THE FERRARI F40: ENZO'S FINAL GIFT

1987 · Ferrari · 6 min

Born to celebrate 40 years of Ferrari, the F40 was the last car approved by Enzo Ferrari himself.

THE HOMAGE

For the marque's 40th anniversary in 1987, Ferrari created a car with one purpose: pure, unadulterated performance in tribute to Enzo's racing obsession.

THE MACHINE

A twin-turbo 2.9-litre V8 produced 478 hp, making the F40 the first production car to break 200 mph (around 201 mph claimed). It stripped away everything non-essential — no carpets, no soundproofing, minimal everything.

THE LEGACY

The F40 was the last car personally signed off by Enzo before his death in 1988, and remains one of the most loved supercars ever built.
