THE DODGE VIPER: AMERICA'S RAWEST SUPERCAR
1992 · Dodge · 5 min
A V10, no driver aids, and a refusal to compromise — the Viper was American muscle taken to its extreme.
THE IDEA
Conceived in the late 1980s, the Viper was Dodge's answer to the question of what an American supercar should be: an 8.0-litre V10, rear-wheel drive, and virtually no electronic safety net.
THE MACHINE
Its massive V10 — derived from a truck engine — gave it brutal acceleration and a raw, demanding character that made it a legend among enthusiasts who wanted pure, uncompromising performance.
