THE HELLCAT: 717 HP AND A SECOND CHANCE
2015 · Dodge · 5 min
When American muscle looked finished, one supercharged V8 proved there was life left in a dying formula.
THE DOUBT
By the 2010s, big American V8 muscle cars seemed like a heritage act. The Hellcat was Dodge's response: a 707 hp (later 717 hp) supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in a Challenger or Charger.
THE MACHINE
The Hellcat didn't just offer power — it offered it at a price that made supercar numbers attainable. It became a cultural phenomenon and briefly the performance bargain of the decade.
